I picked up this Cascade Sunseeker yesterday and honestly I could not WAIT to start knitting it up. Which is really strange because it’s a cotton blend and I generally hate working with cotton. Something about this just appealed to me so much. You can’t tell just how vibrant the color really is in the photo, but it’s gorgeous and it will be a nice light fall cowl and I’m so excited. <3
One of the few Christmas gifts I can actually post on tumblr!
After swearing that I would NEVER EVER KNIT A SCARF THIS WAY AGAIN (you may remember this from when I was working on the Hufflepuff version for myself) I’m working on a Gryffindor scarf for my mom.
It’s the same pattern I used last time. So 100 sts stockinette in the round for a million billion years. I actually already had the yarn from an abandoned attempt at this when I first started knitting again and while I had planned to improvise the pattern that time, it happens I used the same stuff that this person did. I couldn’t care less what the yarn snobs have to say, simply soft is really nice for this type of scarf. I’ll probably do a matching hat and mittens along with this that my mom will almost certainly never use (as she will probably never use the scarf) but whatever.
In other (almost) mom knitting, I’m probably going to do a granny square lap blanket for my step mom. I really really really need to get better at sewing shit together and I seriously doubt she will be observant enough to realize how jacked my learning attempt will be.
Dad’s getting the mittens with the “fornicating deer” pattern. I don’t care, it’s funny and he’s not gonna use anything I make anyway.
Also knitting-ish, thank you to everyone who asked for hats for christmas/that holiday I’m never sure how to spell/festivus/whatever bc they are so much less stressful than these huge projects. You are all the best.
